The paperwork involved in buying a property in Tenerife can be mind blowing; therefore we recommend you use an expert who specialises in this area. The rules & regulations change constantly so if you hear an estate agent offer to do the paperwork themselves, I’d be very weary if I was you!

We use a company located in Los Cristianos who specialise in property and business sales. They will check there is no debt on the property (Unlike in the UK, if a property has debt on it, YOU as the new owner would inherit this!). All the last bills for the utilities are collected; checks are made at Land Registry to ensure it is all registered correctly, paperwork is checked and utilities/property paperwork changed into your name. They will also attend notary when we take you to sign over the deeds.

Alternatively, we can recommend a lawyer located in Las Galletas, which is about 10 minutes drive from our office who offers similar services as above and also speaks very good English;
